  • I love it. I had relief for around 3 months. I go in every 3 months, if you can handle a pinch that's what it feels like.

  • It didn't work for me. I had horrible side effects from the botox. Neck hurt so bad. Could not swallow right and had to hold my head up. I work out and couldn't use my shoulder muscles. Everything was paralyzed. Getting the shots was no problem. The side effects were awful for me. Over a year later and I still can't turn my neck from side to side without feeling pain. Just didn't work for me. It may be great for you. Hope it is.

Mine hurt and was so dehydrated feeling that if I sat in it to soak 5 minutes later and my skin would have soaked it up, then ask for more. I sorry about your sister n law. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. But I'm glad Im not going crazy just thinking that this was happening. Thank you so much.

  • That's disappointing.

  • Kari Liller - i also found it drove me nuts because the dr kept switching what location they worked out of and the scheduling people scheduled me with a few different people and the PA got mad at me for that ! There were also a few times i would see the PA and they would recommend a treatment and the next visit i would see the Dr and they wouldnt agree with what the PA told me.

  • I'm using a local neuro for a few months out of necessity but I normally go to DENT. I have mixed feelings as I feel like they have fallen short in the last year.

I had a very extended migraine. I kept feeling like they were stringing me along via phone. I finally found out my dr was leaving and I think that had a lot to do with it. The replacement and head of DENT were very disappointing. My PA is the best help I get.

I have gone to MI for help and would continue there if it wasn't such a distance. They make an effort to understand right up front. A full day OP visit.

  • In your area is there a place that you could go that charges on a sliding scale based on your income? Where I live (Green Bay, WI) there are a couple of clinics that do. Sending you positive vibes Stephanie and glad that you belong to this group where we can try to support one another!

  • I'm doing better today. I get screwed on anything with sliding scale bc i live with my fiance, who makes good $, but our finances are not joined as if we were married. Very long complicated stuff with all that, but ty for your concern. I am doing better today & am glad to have group support.

  • I'm looking into therapy through my county. I can't afford it either and that's with my insurance covering it. I can't cover $50 copays not with all my doctor visits and everything else. I don't know where your from Stephanie, but look into local resources. Go onto your local government/County webpage and see if you can find services that may be more affordable to you.

  • I'm been taking Botox for 2 years. I haven't had any problems when it works. If you have any type of sinus or cold then Botox doesn't work. Even with this I am still very pleased with Botox. Sometimes I will have minor headaches but they don't amount to nothing. One suggestion is while you go for your wellness check ask for trigger shots. That will help immensely. Hope this helps

  • I have injections in the back of my head,in my forehead, around my face and jaws

  • I've done two sessions so far…after the 1st one, literally nothing changed. Now after the 2nd, I wanna say there's some days where I'm not taking constant meds, like sometimes there will be 1 -2 day break.

But I did get a migraine after this last session, lasted about 5-6 days,

I'll have to ask Dr if Botox causes kinds/lengths/severities of Migraine that you've previously not had, cause that's a long one for me, & it was in a weird spot...

but I've had no other side effects besides that, if longer headache time is even a side effect.

She did tell me it sometimes takes around 3 sessions to see results.

  • Shaun, I really think something else is going too. Remember I had sinus surgery too (turbinate reduction, deviated septum repair and balloon sinuplasty to ethmoids and sphenoids. I had a long course of antibiotics and steroids. After all of that almost six months ago, I'm still having problems. I think there's something going on with the tempormandibular joint and the occipital region of the skull. This is multi-layered why it's so hard to figure out.

  • Hi, you might be right for some. How have you been since your op. In percentage terms how much improvement do you think you've made? The ENT surgeon I saw didn't recommend balloon sinoplasty, instead preferring to cut away tissue as he said it was much more effective in the long run.

  • Yes I'm getting the same symptoms: headache after bending down, straining, coughing. I've mentioned it to my doctor but nothing was done about it. Going back this week to ask for a CT or MRI. Please keep us posted on your progress xx

Shoulder and neck massage 2-3 times each week. Strong pain killers if I have a particular bad headache. Don't do this much though as don't want to become reliant on them.

  • Xxxxxxx Yzzzzzz I think I asked. They gave me a script but at the time had only given them out for 6 people. They said it really helped I think 3, did nothing for 2, initiated migraines for me. It was probably 1 1/2 years ago but I think it might have said it may take up to two minutes to feel it and in my case in 12 seconds I was ready to level out the intensity. But the nerves in my head feel like they are exposed anyways. I contacted the Reed center and they said I might still be a candidate but I'm hesitant right now about that. Anyways you have a valid point, why don't they mention this. Less Meds would be great for all.

  • I trained to be a nurse in the 70s but had to give up because of migraines. I was ill every time I had a day off. The shifts especially night shift made them worse. The doctor said it was because I was a perfectionist and on a my day off I wound down and this would result in a migraine. I also found the hospital wasn't very sympathetic and I got into trouble for time off.
