  • Hi Steven. I have had constant moderate to severe headpain for 22 years. I have heard of 5 cases of NDPH being resolved with gabapentin and/or topiramate at MHNI (Michigan Head Neurological Institute) Ann Arbor, MI.

  • was that with dr. rozen?

  • Yes, Dr. Rozen. I am only getting that info from the MHNI website. I have not been their since 1998 and I was treated by Dr. Saper.

  • Are you a christain? My husband suffers with CH...though he is an athiest...I have strong faith....we have tried everything...my only thought now is, is this a spirtual battle? I know if God would heal him he would beleive....

  • I am a christian, and I do ask fellow members i church to pray for me, and I can not say or speak for God, nor can I know or understand all the reasons for things that happen to us. But, I can say that in my opinion God doesn't work that way. It isn't like "what can you do for me God, do this, do that, and I'll believe in you". I wish it were so simple, but honestly, I think first you have to believe, and then you will see the change. I can't say that God will take away his pain, because we don't know the purpose in his pain. Take for example one of the great men of the Bible, the apostle Peter:

    ------------------------------------------- ---------------

    2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (New International Reader's Version)

I could have become proud of myself because of the amazing and wonderful things God has shown me. So I was given a problem that caused pain in my body. It is a messenger from Satan to make me suffer. 8 Three times I begged the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, "My grace is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak." So I am very happy to brag about how weak I am. Then Christ's power can rest on me.

    ------------------------------------------- ------------------------

  • You are right in that we can not demand of God as the clay pot does not ask the potter "why have you made me this way?" I guess I know that would be the easy way for my husband to come to faith. I wish he could cling to Him in his weakness. I will pray for God to give you comfort and peace in your agony. One day you will not suffer-this I know to be true of all His beloved. Who, knows, maybe the clusters are God's way of sealing your eternal fate-so many people fall away from the faith....I think weakness is what helps someone to persevere in the end. Bless you.

  • I agree with you, Ronnie. I used to work as a receptionist in a clinic and found it unbelievable when patients would have to wait for MONTHS to see a specialist! The trick is to get your primary to call for you. Doctors are like anyone else. They will do more for a friend than they will a stranger. Sad but true.

  • That's true. I don't want to even get in to a moan about how i was treated the last time i went to the nhs for help or else i'd be here forever.
